After teaching general music for 12 years, I am thrilled to be entering my third year at Marist teaching strings. It is a privilege to be teaching students who have had a solid musical education upon entering Marist, and now want to focus on playing their instrument in a string ensemble. This year the string class has doubled from four students to eight. We play many different musical genres from baroque and classical to pop and jazz.
I have two daughters, one a 2006 graduate of Marist and one who is starting her sophomore year. It is a privilege to teach what I love at a school which inspires the best from our children in a safe, spiritually nurturing environment.
Upon graduating, I taught privately while raising my daughters and worked with the Suzuki Strings program at the U of O.
Education:
I attended the University of Oregon School of Music from 1985-1989. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Violin Performance.
Currently, in addition to teaching at Marist, I teach an after school string program at St. Paul Parish School, and play in two local chamber orchestras.
