In order to improve communications between Marist and our families, we use "SchoolReach" phone messaging. Some schools rely on a "phone chain" or "phone mail" where one parent on a list calls the next one, and so on. That process may work for certain situations, but it frequently fails due to unanswered phones and frustrated parents. What's more, it's human nature to change a message slightly each time it gets repeated, so the news received may be quite different from the original message. Email is another option we use to contact parents, but unless someone is right at their computer, it doesn't help with notices requiring immediate action.

How does it Work?

In the event of a snow day or other school closure, or important sports or activities announcements, our Marist families will receive a phone call through the SchoolReach phone system. We will try to make these calls only in the evening between 5 P.M. and 9 P.M. unless it is an emergency, in which case the SchoolReach call will be made as needed.
