David Van Der Haeghen​

Director of Admissions and Outreach

As the Director of Admissions and Outreach at Marist, I oversee the admissions process for incoming
students and families. This includes reviewing applications, sharing our campus with visitors, building
partnerships with middle schools county-wide, and communicating about all steps related to getting
started at Marist on the right foot, be they academic, financial, or extra-curricular in nature. I work
closely with the Advancement and Leadership teams to ensure we are positioning students to navigate
our admissions process successfully, and to also keep Marist’s emphasis on a faith-based high school
education at the forefront of our work, both in and out of the classroom. Marist is already well-
positioned to serve students and the greater community in Lane County; I hope to be able to further
that progress each and every day.

My BA in Political Science and Ethnic Studies, as well as my M.Ed in Prevention Science, are both from
the University of Oregon. I have worked professionally for 11+ years in higher ed admissions at Lane
Community College and the University of Oregon. Most recently, I worked as an executive manager for
Senior & Disability Services in Eugene, where I oversaw nutrition and social service programming during
the COVID-19 pandemic.
