Campus Ministry and Theology

The faith life of Marist is advanced through the collaborative efforts of the Campus Ministry Department and Theology Department, with the guidance and support of the school president and school chaplain. Inspired by the charism of Marist Brothers’ Founder, St. Marcellin Champagnat, the Theology and Campus Ministry Departments are very active in the spiritual life and faith development of the students and staff of Marist Catholic High School. Together, they offer unique and challenging opportunities through which students can deepen their understanding and experience of themselves as human persons and their faith as Christians. For over 50 years, Marist in Eugene has remained committed to the vision of St. Marcellin Champagnat: "To make Jesus known through the Christian education of youth."

The focus of Theology and Campus Ministry is comprised primarily of four main areas: education, liturgy and prayer, retreat experiences, and community service. They are charged with:
  • the religious and moral development of each student, by fostering awareness of Christian identity through a specific curriculum of religious education in the Catholic tradition
  • exhibiting the ideals of Christian service and leadership
  • providing a variety of liturgical and spiritual activities
  • preparing students to meet the moral and spiritual challenges of our society
  • encouraging the learning, sharing and spreading of Gospel values
The Theology and Campus Ministry Departments are sensitive to the religious and moral growth of its students of all faiths. We hope to enable each student to develop a deep and lasting relationship with God.

Marist Catholic High School's Mission

Marist Catholic High School is a Christ-centered, welcoming community committed to academic
excellence and preparing students to lead and serve others.

More fundamentally:
  • To spread the good news/the faith of the Gospel
  • To love, and teach others to love
  • To make Jesus Christ known and loved
  • Accompany one another on the path to holiness

The Marist Charism

Exemplified in the life and teaching of Jesus, flow the values that inspire the Marist way of living the Gospels. The Five Marist Pillars animate our Catholic mission.
