1:1 Technology

We are excited to introduce a promising new educational initiative at Marist – 1:1 Technology Integration, iPads for Learning. All Marist students are issued a school-owned iPad as their primary learning device paid for as part of their tuition.

This initiative is the result of two years of study, research and thoughtful evaluation by our staff. First and foremost, we know that while the tenants of our Catholic faith are timeless, we live in a rapidly changing world. Powerful technology is already a part of the daily lives of our students and is increasingly integrated into our culture’s learning and social fabric. Students today must also be able to critically understand and thoughtfully apply an immense amount of information that is readily available to them through digital media. As a Catholic, college preparatory high school, we believe we have an obligation to prepare and guide students to navigate these changes through the distinctive moral and ethical framework of our faith.

Equally important and central to our mission at Marist is the expectation of excellence in preparing students to learn and succeed in the 21st century. That preparation includes integrating the power and potential of technology into our strong academic programs, creating an even more dynamic and effective environment that helps students learn, grow, and thrive. Mobile learning devices will meet those challenges, as well as allow for more flexibility and opportunities for learning. Teachers will have greater abilities to create an active and engaging learning environment.

Marist has explored the most effective ways to implement this important change. We have researched various platforms and electronic resources.  We have looked at various models of staff training and student roll-out and have visited a number of Catholic schools across the country that have already moved to a 1:1 program. Our conclusion — a 1:1 environment will provide students with the best tools for learning and preparing them for college and beyond. And, we believe the iPad is the most effective, tested and sound economic option.

Thank you for trusting Marist to work in partnership with you to educate your student in preparation for college, life and beyond.

“I know that Marist has prepared me to be able to face any challenge
in the future. I am blessed to be a part of this community.”
